We are thrilled to announce that Artbank has acquired the major Helen Curtis painting from our April Tjungu Palya exhibition.

Curtis is an emerging artist who has come to prominence recently, most notably at the 2012 Desert Mob exhibition in Alice Springs where she was exhibiting with fellow emerging artists from Tjungu Palya. Curtis's use of bold colour and loose brush strokes re-imagines her traditional stories to striking effect. Elements of traditional iconography are still apparent, however the saturated colours lend a sense of heightened emotion and vitality to her work. This is a significant piece that heralds her emergence as a collectible artist.

Curtis is the daughter of highly-acclaimed Tjungu Palya artist, Angkaliya Curtis.
